Suggested message:

I support the Fair Tax idea (National Retail Sales Tax - NRST).  The NRST will help to level the playing field in international trade as businesses and corporations will no longer pay federal income taxes. This will significantly help our runaway trade deficits as we can then sell our products overseas at a significantly lower cost. This will also protect our jobs, manufacturing, and technology as it will be more attractive to do business here in the United States. This will help control our nation's explosive debt. The good paying middle class jobs, with benefits, that we are losing to cheaper foreign labor costs will be more apt to stay here as companys become more competitive. Citizens not paying federal income tax and keeping more middle class jobs, empowers them with more discretionary income, allowing for more freedom of choice in spending, which in turn will stimulate our economy and increase the retail sales tax base. With corporate taxes gone prices would be approximately 20% lower and a 25% NRST added to a price that is now 80% of the original would be a near wash. (Original price = $100 - 20% corporate tax = $80 + a 25% sales tax = $100) Capital gains tax, death tax, and buried corporate taxes at all levels will be gone greatly stimulating our economy and enhancing citizen's ability to invest and save.

This is one of my top 3 issues and will be a requirement for anyone receiving my support for national office.  

The 16th Amendment must also be repealed.  

Beginning on January 1st, in the year after the last required state ratifies this repeal, the IRS would be shut down with all its complex rules and regulations, as the National Retail Sales Tax kicks in. The NRST is revenue neutral and will provide no more or less federal revenue than is collected now.
This tax MUST NOT be embedded into the price of the retail purchase.  It should be added on to the purchase price just like the state and local sales taxes are now.  This is important in order for citizens to understand the actual cost of government, and to prevent the federal government from slipping in unseen taxes.

This is a critically important issue to me.
