The Madison Forum is pleased to announce that Congressman Phil Gingery will be the Guest Speaker at the Madison Forum Luncheon, Rib Ranch, Canton Road, Marietta on Monday October 9, 2006.

Phil will provide a Congressional Update and engage in a Q&A
Discussion with members and guests.

As always, we look forward to an open and informative discussion,
and we should come prepared with insightful questions.

The Madison Forum is a non-partisan organization and open to
Republicans, Democrats, and Independents who are interested in rational thoughtful debate/discussion regarding the issues.

The Madison Forum is pleased to announce that Cobb County Superior Court Chief, Justice James (Jim) Bodiford will be the Guest Speaker on Saturday, October 28.

Judge Bodiford was elected in July 1994 as a Superior Court Judge after receiving 69% of the vote and was re-elected in 1998 and 2002 without opposition. He graduated from Mercer University with a B.A. Degree and John Marshall Law School with a J.D. degree. He is also a graduate of the National Judicial College.

Prior to this service, Judge Bodiford served as the Chief Magistrate Judge for Cobb County from 1985 until 1994. He is well known for conducting Georgia’s First Drug Court and completing over 500 felony cases which eliminated a backlog. He was also the trial judge for the two month death penalty trial of ex-lawyer Fred Tokars and the month long murder trial of Lynn Turner, the alleged anti-freeze murderer. Both cases were televised live, gavel to gavel, on Court TV. In addition to these murder trials, Judge Bodiford presided over and successfully completed the internationally covered Tri-State crematory case involving
Ray Brent Marsh.

Judge Bodiford also served as the Powder Springs Municipal Court Judge. Before going on the bench, Judge Bodiford served as a trial attorney for the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office and was in also in private practice in Marietta, Georgia.  Judge Bodiford is active in civic and charitable organizations. He is a past president of the Marietta Metro Kiwanis Club and is the prior Chairman of the Board of the Cobb Unit of the American Cancer Society. He is also an alumnus of Leadership Cobb.

As always there will be a short presentation on our U.S. Constitution - We will cover Article I, Section 8, the enumerated powers. Bring your Constitutions.
Speaker's Program: 8:30A.M. - 9:30 A.M. Afterwards there will be an open discussion of current issues by all members.
Guests are always welcome.
