Madison Forum hosts Cobb County Debates!

The Madison Forum will be hosting a debate for Cobb County Commission candidates for District 2, Southeast Cobb and District 4, Southwest Cobb on Thursday, May 29, 2008 from 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. The program will be held at the Cobb County Commission Chambers, Marietta, and will be broadcast live on Channel 23.

The candidates for the Cobb Commission District 2 who have confirmed are:

1.     Mr. Bob Ott, Airline Pilot
2.     Mr. Ron Sifen, Credit Consultant
3.     Commissioner Joe Lee Thompson, District 2

The candidates for the Cobb Commission District 4 who have confirmed are:

1.     Mrs. Clarice Barber-Page, Family business
        2.     Mrs. Elma Forest, Marketing Director
          3.     Commissioner Annette Kesting, District 4
        4.     Dr. Michael Rhett, Reading Teacher and MSgt, United States Air Force Reserve
        5.     Mr. G. Woody Thompson, Real Estate
            Broker

        The Panelists are:

1. Randy Evans , Attorney and Journalist
2. Chuck Clay, Attorney and Former Georgia State Senator
3. Louie Hunter, Former Cobb County Commissioner and Lobbyist

Michael Opitz, President, Madison Forum will be the Moderator. Everyone is invited to come to meet the candidates.

Madison Forum BBQ Social!

Join us on Saturday, June 14th for a day of food and fun at Riverside Park- Pavillion B.

Williamson Bros. BBQ will be supplying the food, but be sure to bring your own beverages and any desserts you would like to share. We will get started at 11:00 am.

Please remember that June 14th is also Flag Day! Be sure to bring your American Flags!

There is also a horseshoe pit at this pavillion.

Directions:

Starting Point: I-75 exit 285 (Red Top Mountain)

Northbound: Exit 285 and turn left.

Southbound: Exit 285 and turn right.

At the intersection of Highway 41 turn right. Go north for 1.1 miles until you see the Allatoona Dam Road on the right. Turn right and go 1.7 miles. The road ends at the park entrance. We are Pavillion B.
